It started back in the mists of time, in the little village of Lower Tean, after a boozy night in the pub in November 2004 . Two men, Charlie Humphries and Richard McGowan (Brothers-in-law) along with the then Landlady of the Dog & Partridge, had an idea to organize a rock concert to try and raise some money for charity. They called it 'The Night of the Dog' (named after said pub). The idea was to get local bands to play, and a couple of thousand people would turn up.  After persuading the local farmer to lend them a couple of fields, they went for it!

From 2005 to 2007 the event has raised almost £25,000 for various charities including: Air Ambulance, Strokes R Us and local organisations.

There was no Night of the Dog in 2008 due to other commitments (and overwork from the previous year) which everyone was gutted about.

But for 2009 it returned and was yet another success raising over £6100 for Air Ambulance, Donna Louise Trust and 4 local organisations.

Night of the Dog 5 took palce on the 3rd July 2010. It was sun drenched sold out and raised £8,500

2011 raised a total of £8,500 & saw a sell out event.

News on 2012 will be released when known.
