It started back in the mists of time, in the little village of Lower Tean, after a boozy night in the pub in November 2004 . Two men, Charlie Humphries and Richard McGowan (Brothers-in-law) along with the then Landlady of the Dog & Partridge, had an idea to organize a rock concert to try and raise some money for charity. They called it 'The Night of the Dog' (named after said pub). The idea was to get local bands to play, and a couple of thousand people would turn up. After persuading the local farmer to lend them a couple of fields, they went for it!
There was no Night of the Dog in 2008 due to other commitments (and overwork from the previous year) which everyone was gutted about.
But for 2009 it returned and was yet another success raising over £6100 for Air Ambulance, Donna Louise Trust and 4 local organisations.
Sadly Night of the Dog will not take place in 2012, due to the organisers wanting (and deserving) a break. One is getting married so a big congratulations to him, the other...still recovering from last year! I would like to take this opportunity to thank the organisers for all the hard work they put in over the last six events. Lets hope to see Night of the Dog back & better than ever in 2013! Thank you to all our fans, keep checking back for news.
6 events have raised over £45,000 for charity!
None of this would have been achievable without the continued support from our fans, we are so thankful to you all.
